Wig Care Guide
Follow these simple steps to keep your wig looking flawless and long-lasting.
Daily Maintenance
Store Properly – Place your wig on a wig stand or mannequin to maintain its shape. Avoid tossing it on surfaces where it can tangle.
Minimize Friction – Prevent frizz and tangles by avoiding excessive rubbing against fabrics like sweaters or car headrests.
Use the Right Products – Only use wig-friendly, alcohol-free, and sulfate-free styling products to prevent buildup and damage.
Cleaning Your Wig
How Often? – Wash your wig every 6–10 wears or when it looks dull or feels heavy from product buildup.
Step-by-Step Washing Guide:
- Detangle First – Use a wide-tooth comb or wig brush to gently remove tangles.
- Use Lukewarm Water – Fill a sink with lukewarm water and add a wig-safe shampoo.
- Soak & Swish – Place the wig in water and gently swirl it (do not rub or scrub).
- Rinse Gently – Use cool water to rinse until all shampoo is removed.
- Condition the Ends – Apply wig conditioner to mid-lengths and ends, avoiding the roots. Rinse after a few minutes.
- Air Dry – Pat dry with a towel and place it on a wig stand to air dry naturally.
Styling Tips
Heat-Friendly Wigs: If your wig is heat-resistant, use heat styling tools on the lowest setting (below 300°F/150°C). Always apply a heat protectant.
No Heat Wigs: Do not use curling irons or straighteners on synthetic wigs unless labeled "heat-friendly."
Drying & Setting: Let the wig air dry to maintain its shape. Use rollers or wig-friendly hairspray for styling as needed.
Storage & Longevity
Avoid Sunlight & Dust – Store your wig in a silk bag or box when not in use to prevent fading and dust buildup.
Rotate Wigs – If you wear wigs regularly, rotating between two or more extends their lifespan.
Avoid Sleeping in Wigs – This prevents matting and friction damage.
